Description
The Conducted Collective Ensemble (formerly known as The Ensemble) is a large ensemble focusing on notated music that has been recently composed. The group's repertoire emphasizes new forms of composition and collaborative directions in concert music, experimental music, improvisation, and new media. Working with traditional western notation as well as graphic and text scores, the Conducted Collective Ensemble focuses on the development of ensemble playing skills in a conducted and collaborative environment. There will be one performance at the end of each semester and may be additional performances depending on the semester. Repertoire selection vary depending on enrolled students and projects will consist of music for the full group as well as sub-group projects, which will be assigned during the course of the semester. This ensemble is open to school of music students. Students from other schools may join with instructor consent.
